Did you know the first shelter in the nation for victims of domestic violence was established in the Twin Cities? On May 6, 2023, Women’s Advocates, the organization that founded the shelter, held its Break the Cycle Community Bike Ride and Festival to raise money to support its mission. Bertie’s Treats was honored to participate.

On Saturday, September 10, we participated in the American Parkinson Disease Association Minnesota Optimism Walk. The fundraising event included not only a short walk but also activities, lunch, a raffle and ice cream.

What a beautiful day to celebrate a bar mitzvah. We were honored to serve ice cream at this important event.

Happy 90th! So much fun celebrating a big birthday with the birthday man and his family. There was lots of ice cream, cake and candles!

We were honored to be part of the 2022 Twin Cities Diversity Homeownership Fair. The Fair is “dedicated to increasing opportunities for sustainable homeownership through meaningful connections, education, and resources.”

What fun! On a beautiful Fall afternoon, we handed out ice cream and bubble wands at a Sukkot event. It was wonderful to see people happy, laughing, and enjoying community.

Bertie hit the road for a celebration in St. Cloud. A gentleman there donated a piece of property to his local high school and Bertie had the privilege of being a part of the dedication. There was great company, great food and great music. And, of course, there was ice cream.

Bertie and I celebrated National Night Out with our neighbors and friends on a beautiful summer evening. My neighbors have always been supportive of this endeavor. They encouraged me when it was just a dream and hired me to work at events. It was nice to share ice cream with them - and let some of them have a turn handing out ice cream.

On a hot summer day, Bertie went to a party to provide ice cream to a lovely group of kids. The kids had gathered at the house of some friends to create using cardboard from the recycling center. They made boats, castles, shields, sword, and outfits. Then they took a break for ice cream.

A perfect evening for celebrating accomplishments and handing out ice cream! We had a lovely time serving ice cream at the reception following a young woman’s senior violin recital.

We were honored to be at the first get together of congregants of a local synagogue since COVID 19 lock-down was lifted. We handed out ice cream at the end of their bike ride.

So happy to have had the opportunity to serve ice cream at this lovely young woman's graduation party. Good luck in college!

Hosted by the Rondo branch of the St. Paul Public Library, the party featured a DJ, dancing, a bubble parade, crafts, community art projects and food. The library hopes the new art will highlight its role as a community gathering space.
